Centrifugal
Compressor Design, Operation & Maintenance (GCT2)
A unique and practical hands-on course designed for you who are
experienced engineers and have a
good level of understanding of centrifugal compressors. This is ideal if you
want to progress to a more advanced level and develop a better appreciation of the design and operating principles of
these machines.
During this course, you will learn the principles and types of gas compression processes and be given an insight into the effects of variations of gas composition, pressure and temperatures on operating characteristics.
A typical performance test analysis is presented to you with case studies from actual operating plants highlighting the practical issues associated with data collection and validation.
The principles of centrifugal compressor design, selection and
optimisation are explained to you along with methods of differentiating between alternative compressors designs.
Steady state simulation technologies for performance evaluation of single and multiple compressor casings are
also presented, allowing the effect of changing compositions and process conditions to be simulated.
The course will also describe selection procedures of surge control systems and recycle valve sizing, while dynamic simulations are used for a greater appreciation of compressor surge protection systems.
Case studies are presented throughout with live examples of projects.
