Gas reception and separation is modelled
for each well stream, both at the wellheads and at the
central processing platform where all gas streams are
combined for compression. Full gas composition of all
incoming gas streams is then derived after co-mingling.
Next, free water will be separated and removed from the well
fluids. Condensate will also be separated and removed for
export.
|
Gas Compression System
 |
Pressures and temperatures of gas streams
are established before compression and export.
Compressor Analysis
 |
GASMAN rigorously analyses the
compressors by carrying out a performance analysis of each
compressor casing individually, taking account of the
compressor trains selected and well fluid streams specified
by the user.
Compressor speed, performance, head, volume flow, pressures
and power are calculated for each train, which will be
verifiable with actual field performance.

Gas Turbines
 |
MSE has built complete models of
RB211-24C gas generators with power turbines for various
OEMs.
The model enables accurate analysis of the increase in power
available from proposed changes to the power turbine IGV.
The model also evaluates performance gains arising from the
new uprated gas generator RB211-24G.
The integrated GASMAN model also determines the net gain in
actual production from the entire system as a result of the
proposed modifications.
By analysing the performance of each gas turbine separately
based on the power and speed required by the compressor,
GASMAN enables specification of ambient pressure,
temperature and filter pressure loss for each gas turbine.
|
Cooler Pressure Loss
 |
GASMAN analyses pressure losses for gas
coolers based on their design values. Discharge temperatures
are also assumed to be the design values. Both pressure
losses across the cooler and discharge temperatures can be
varied to match test data.
|
Export Pipeline
 |
The pressure drop across the export
pipeline is calculated to determine delivery flow and
arrival pressure at Bessemer. These pressure-loss
characteristics are based on frictional-loss pipelines

Alarms
 |
The GASMAN database contains alarm set
points for all major items of equipment. The alarm levels
will be set to ensure that your equipment does not operate
at conditions beyond their design limits.
The program normally converges to a solution even if some
equipment is operating beyond design limits. However, if
values vary too greatly from design specifications, then the
system may be unable to converge to a solution. In either
case, alarms are generated which will highlight the specific
equipment which is exceeding design specifications, and the
percentage deviation from design at which the equipment is
trying to operate.
The GASMAN system includes a database of design and test
data for each system component. This database is set up and
verified thoroughly in a series of functional tests at MSE.
The exact nature of the data required for the database will
be provided to you in a separate document. |
