Dynamic simulation is the technology
developed and successfully used by MSE to model surge
control strategies for gas production facilities. By
utilising our dynamic simulation program, we can determine
cost-effective solutions to prevent the surging of
compressors and maintain process stability for all
foreseeable operating conditions of equipment.

Design Modification and Upgrade of
Gas Compression Systems

Our rigorous modelling focuses on
equipment performance non-linearity and examines its
off-design operation, avoiding general purpose and
simplistic models.
By analysing details of machinery, as well as the process
and control system's interactions on an
equipment-by-equipment basis, we can construct a specific
model of a gas compression system along with the associated
process and controls.
Similarly, for evaluating process/equipment interactions of
an actual plant, MSE uses detailed piping/control
information, including position and location of control
valves, inlet and discharge inventories and location of
sensors and controllers. As such, we can build a bespoke
model that configures in much greater detail to highlight a
system's non-linearities and system transients.
This approach has proved highly-effective in providing an
accurate system performance and is necessary for
understanding the transient behaviour of a complex system,
especially involving centrifugal compressors, to find the
optimum solution to operating issues.
