This is because the original process designs were performed
20-30 years ago, where operating conditions and process
requirements have changed. This requires the development of a
new process model of the entire production facility. The model
then enables determining the production bottlenecks, which have
since appeared, and which are restricting production to be
indentified leading to optimised solutions for the facilities.
Our experience is that separators, heat
exchanges, compressors are all operating at conditions far
removed from their original design. MSE has carried out process
simulations of a large number of legacy platforms and production
facilities and have helped the operating companies identify cost
effective and practical solutions.
MSE's proprietary dynamic simulation systems
are design to incorporate the process simulation models of the
production facility, for verification of the plant operation and
control.
