Oil & Gas Field Development - Project Life Cycle

All Oil and Gas projects undergo a cycle of evaluation and planning after discovery of a field before they are declared commercial. MSE is involved at various stages in the project's life cycle, providing appropriate specialist services and support.

Our services cover both green field and brown field projects. For green fields, MSE performs process concept design studies, followed by the selection, specification and procurement of long lead equipment.

For brown fields, MSE carries out testing, production forecasting and debottlenecking studies, which identify cost effective solutions for optimisation and production enhancement.

The results of our studies enable operating companies to determine the cost-effectiveness of their projects by evaluating various options for CAPEX, OPEX, Operating Revenues and possible cost overruns.

Project Design Stages

Once a project has been found to be feasible and declared commercially viable (i.e. shows an acceptable rate of return on invested capital) the project focus shifts to the design stage. There are three stages of design which MSE provides substantial services for:

Concept Design
FEED or Front End Design
Detailed Design (EPC: Engineering Procurement and Construction)
