Gas Storage Design and Operation


The use of GASMAN for gas storage projects, has proved immensely successful due to the fact that  these storage projects heavily rely on the performance of gas compression systems, and very accurate interaction between the reservoir performance and compressor operation.

The operation of compressors used in gas storage facilities is extremely challenging as it spans the entire compressor performance map, covering the area from 'compressor choke' to 'compressor surge', in addition, the reservoir pressures reach their maximum during  the injection season, and are depleted close to their minimum. during the production season in a short period of time as one year.

The GASMAN software provides very accurate production forecasts of reservoir and compressor performance. This accuracy is invaluable in production optimisation and debottlenecking.

History matching has been a key feature of GASMAN where it was found to provide very accurate alignment with measured data.
