MSE (Consultants) Ltd.
is an independent engineering consultancy which provides services to the
Oil and Gas industry. It is a world leader in the design and
application of gas compression systems,
and well respected in the Industry for its innovative
process design, especially projects requiring selection
and specification of gas compressors, turbines and motor
drivers.
MSE has a growing team of highly dedicated process,
mechanical, machinery, controls and software
development engineers, with a wealth of hands-on practical
experience of on-shore and off-shore projects.
MSE has pioneered "Integrated Modelling" of gas compression and
process systems using our proprietary GASMAN software
technology, which combines gas reservoir and process facilities
to determine an optimised system for the development
of gas fields, gas-condensate fields and oil and gas production
systems.
MSE develops and maintains a long term relationship with its
clients, enabling us to provide life cycle support from concept
design through to detailed engineering for new projects, as well
as for extending life of mature oil and gas assets. |

Company History
|
The company was founded in
1988 by Dr Sib Akhtar, MSE's Chairman and Technical Director.
Dr Akhtar is a compressor specialist and a technical
authority on the application of turbo-machinery for oil and gas
projects. With 35 years
experience in the oil and gas industry, Dr Akhtar has worked
with major compressor and turbine manufacturers including
Elliott, GEC and English Electric. He worked with MW Kellogg as
Principal Engineer and was Chief Machinery Engineer with Global
Engineering, prior to establishing MSE (Consultants) Ltd. Dr Akhtar provides
specialist technical consultancy on gas compression projects for
oil companies including Shell, BP, BG, Centrica, Statoil-Hydro
and many other companies, acting as an independent expert witness.

specialises in gas compression
system design, optimisation, and
testing as well as
failure investigation. MSE has accumulated a wealth of
project experience in the re-design, modification and
expansion of oil and gas projects for both onshore and
offshore production systems, onshore reception facilities
including pipeline systems. MSE's experience and technology
is uniquely suited for the redevelopment and expansion of
mature assets where we
work in close partnership with our clients to optimise
production and extend the asset life; this is achieved by
integrating satellite fields which require redesign of gas
compressors.
MSE is an established and well respected company having
completed 330 projects since its formation in 1989, some 20
years ago. We work closely with our clients, build long term
relationships and provide support and added value to all
projects we undertake. |

In the early years, the company optimised
many mature oil and gas assets by re-designing the gas
compression facilities to better match the declining field
pressures. The outcome of these early projects was highly
successful and resulted in a dramatic increase in production

base. MSE has completed some 330 projects covering assets in the
UK North Sea, Liverpool Bay, Norway, Denmark and the
Netherlands.
MSE has expanded its expertise internationally and has worked on
projects located in Oman, Qatar, Malaysia, Korea, Japan, Australia, India
and Pakistan, as well as several North African countries.
