Independent Modelling of Gas Turbines

MSE provides independent advice on engine selection, its performance evaluation and due diligence on commonly used gas turbine engines available from different manufacturers. To help with the analysis MSE has developed performance models of gas turbines. Such models are used for performance assessment of engines operating in the field and during factory tests.

The models allow the analysis of the following parameters which influence engines operation and performance:

Effect of ambient temperature

Combined effect of speed and temperature variation

Verifying the engine has sufficient power to meet the compression power

Determining fuel consumption for normal and off-design operation

Identifying alternative fuels during start-up

Determining engine emissions

Compliance with the client and international standards for NOX, SOX and UHC.

Determining carbon emissions and ways to reduce or mitigate these

MSE has built models of a number of gas turbine engines and these are constantly updated for new engines or engine enhancements.

MSE also provides support for:

Preparation of engine and compressor data sheets

Project specifications

Performance and factory acceptance tests on behalf of the client
