KP4 Compliance

The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) has recently launched the Key Programme 4 (KP4 initiative).  MSE compressor experts have a thorough understanding of managing the risks associated with aging equipment operations both onshore and offshore. The assessment of equipment for continued service beyond the original design life requires a measured and auditable approach in order to satisfy the HSE Inspectorate. MSE have detailed knowledge of HSE KP4 requirements for compression systems.

MSE can assist Duty Holders in meeting their KP4 obligations with respect to the compression systems by facilitating the following activities;

Ability to benchmark ‘current’ performance compared to ‘as designed’.
Provide written inspection routines.
Ability to interpret casing inspection findings and provide written condition assessments.
Recommend a repair or replace scheme.
Develop a written Ageing and Life Extension (ALE) plan for the compressor based on inspection findings.
Identify risks of hydrocarbon leakage based on ALE issues.
Feedback data to AIM system.
MSE offers a range of services for the compression system rotating equipment that encompasses provision of a basic roadmap of activities necessary to meet the requirements, through to complete management of the entire KP4  5-yearly thorough review of the safety case.
