Applications & Case Studies
 |
MSE has developed concept designs for a
wide variety of oil and gas projects; many of these projects
are in successful operation. MSE has been retained by the
clients beyond the concept design stage in auditing the
actual FEED design and vendor selections and bid
evaluations; the range of applications includes the
following:
 |
Concept Design of
Motor Driven Gas Lift Compressors for Offshore
Platform |
 |
Concept Design of new
Gas Reception facility and Export compressors |
 |
Concept Design study
of Flash Gas and Gas Injection Compressors for gas
condensate fields |
 |
Concept Design of LNG
Compressors for Linde and Axens Process Designs |
 |
Audit of gas storage
facility Concept Design performed by others |
 |
Concept Design
of gas gathering and well-head compression system for
an on-shore field |
 |
Concept Design study
for Gas Depletion Projects |
 |
Concept Design of
large LNG compressors driven by Frame 6, Frame 7 and
Frame 9 gas turbines |
 |
Concept Study for
piston vs. centrifugal compressors for well-head
compression |
|
Concept Designs for Mature Assets
 |
In addition to the above applications MSE
is deeply involved in the concept design of brown field
projects which are based on developing new designs for a
variety of applications such as:
 |
Enabling lower
reservoir pressures |
 |
Post Plateau
production |
 |
Integrating new oil
and gas fields using existing equipment and
facilities. |
Concept Designs for existing projects are
far more difficult. They require a far greater involvement
in understanding the current equipment design and their
limitations before any new design can be developed. The new
concept designs need to be rigorously tested using
GASMAN before they can be
considered for implementation.
Such an analysis is critically important as it can identify
concept designs and applications, which may not work at all,
thus saving valuable money and time.
Only when the new concepts are proven after rigorous
simulations are these put forward for further
considerations.
Compressor re-wheeling is a very cost effective way of
improving production since existing compressor casings and
gas turbine drivers and the process equipment are retained.
Only compressor internals are swapped in a short period of
shut down. |
