Gasman - Optimising Gas
Production
GASMAN is a rigorous software system for
the simulation of gas and condensate field assets. Covering
reservoirs, wells, gathering systems, pipelines, process facilities
and compressions systems, GASMAN enables exploration and producing
companies to evaluate new and existing fields and to integrate new
fields with established assets to achieve optimum gas production.
GASMAN examines the production capacity over field life. This
enables changes in design and operating strategies to be examined
for maximum production.
The GASMAN software system, developed by MSE over the past five
years, determines steady state performance of a gas field system,
taking into account the interaction of all the key components of the
system, ie gas reservoirs and wells, piping network and gas
compression system.

GASMAN accurately
models the non-linearities of the gas compression
system and provides the overall performance of the
gas field system over a short to medium term, ie a
one to three year period.
Once GASMAN is duly calibrated it can provide
production figures to within +/-0.5% in flow and
pressure.
Production Managers need to know in advance what
daily production they can nominate and be assured
that they can deliver it each and every day without
incurring penalties. They need reliable and
practical information such as the following, all of
which GASMAN is capable of delivering:
